A POPULAR Wirral restaurant has rebranded and will reopen as an Indian tapas restaurant and bar.

Chaat Indian Tapas & Lounge, formerly Karma Indian Food, is set to open next week following a two-storey revamp and refurbishment.

The restaurant, based on Grange Road in West Kirby, closed its doors to its customers on March 24 after 22 years of trading as Karma.

Now following a name change, the third-generation independent will continue to offer its delicious Indian dishes in the form of tapas.

Owner Hussain Miah said: “After 22 years of trading, I can definitely say that it's stood the test of time with more highs and some lows.

“We feel that the time has come for a change which hasn't been an easy decision to make but one that needs to be done.

“One thing I can truly say is that the loyalty and support whether it was from staff members, guests, suppliers, and so on has led to a lot of great memories and genuine friendships and it's something that we are truly grateful for.

“We would like to say the biggest thank you to everyone who’s supported us and kept us going for the last 22 years. We appreciate you all so much.

“Here’s to the next 22 years together, as Chaat will be opening in just a few weeks time.”
